Ethan Spares – 420 Worlds
Thank you very much for your kind funding for my goal of qualifying for either the 420 European championships or the 420 World Championship. I qualified with your support for both alongside William Fletcher. I used your funding to attend the events to qualify and for training.
In Poland at the 420 European championships, it was extremely challenging due to an injury sustained sailing on the 1st day, I was unable to sail for the rest of the competition. I spent time watching from the coach boat. We were determined to do well at the Worlds in Alicante. We came 12th overall in the under 17 category, 2nd British boat.
We haven’t stopped focus forwards in our sailing. We have joined the 420 nationals in Pwllheli where we came 6th overall, 3rd male boat and last weekend we came 2nd at Warsash. We have applied for the rya youth squad.

I managed to secure a place on Ilca Skills week at WPNSA and also entered the ILCA Nationals at HISC.
The RS Feva World Championships took place in Follonica
This has been an incredible experience at which I have learnt so much and met some amazing people.
